my dad was all about being prepared, so here are some resources/people/literature that have helped me walk this path
sara rian – grief writer & therapist
- linktree: linktr.ee/SaraRianBooks
- instagram: @sara_rian_books
- author of loving the gone, we are carried, and find me there—poetry collections that delve into grief and healing.
megan devine – author & grief advocate
- book: it’s ok that you’re not ok
- journal: how to carry what can’t be fixed
- a guided journal companion to her book.
- podcast: it’s ok that you’re not ok
daily meditations for working through grief
- book: healing after loss by martha w. hickman
suicide loss support group
- i did not find my specific support group on AFSP but this is a great place to start looking — my group is in person because online just isn’t the best fit for me
- grief groups can be beneficial, but suicide loss is a different kind of grief, so i would suggest a suicide support group over a grief group
- i have found this incredibly helpful on days when i feel completely alone
